Contribution rules
Submitting reports requires accepting these rules. They exist to keep the dataset honest and the hobby welcome in the real-world places it depends on.
1. Report only what you observed
- Submit observations you made yourself, at the place, at roughly the time stated.
- “Nothing there” is a valuable report. Never guess a positive result to be helpful.
- Second-hand information (heard from a friend, saw online) is not an observation.
2. Respect places and people
- Do not report locations inside private homes, schools, or other sensitive places, and do not enter anywhere you are not allowed to be to check a spot.
- Mark ticketed or restricted access honestly so nobody makes a wasted trip.
- Keep notes about places factual; never include information about people.
3. Never manipulate trust
- One observation per visit — no duplicate submissions to inflate confirmations.
- No coordinated confirming/disputing, and no multiple accounts.
- Trust states are computed by the system from the observation record; attempting to game them is grounds for removal.
4. Evidence
- Photos should show the decor context, not people. Avoid faces, license plates, and house numbers.
- Only upload photos you took.
Enforcement
Moderators may reject observations, require evidence, or restrict accounts. Standing is earned through consistent, verifiable contributions — there is no way to buy or vote your way up.
